I am a supportive and enthusiastic teacher, and am always keen to tailor lessons to suit the requirements of my students. I am good at explaining difficult concepts, and am very patient. I carefully monitor my students' progress, and ensure that there is an appropriate level of challenge.
Tutoring Experience
I read English at the University of Cambridge, and am a qualified secondary school teacher, though I am experienced in teaching students from the age of 6 to 66. I have successfully tutored students for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, and have an excellent track record in helping students to achieve outstanding GCSE and A Levels. I have also successfully coached students for Oxbridge and university entrance exams. In addition to teaching academic subjects (English, French, Religious Studies and study skills), I am also a trained dance teacher, and specialise in teaching jazz, modern, street/hip hop and choreography.
Tutoring Approach
I work with my students to ascertain their targets, and work with them to ensure that they are on track. I am diligent in setting and marking homework as required, and plan lessons in advance to ensure that students get the most out of our sessions.
