I am a thirty three year old female who has over four years teaching experience. Academically, I have a first class BSc. Honours Degree, a Masters (MA.) and a Secondary PGCE (MA.). I am passionate about Geography and PE and this shows in my approach to teaching. I have a proven track record of 100% pass rate at A-Level for both PE and Geography - this also applies to the most recent A-Level Summer 2017 results. I am positive, highly motivated by success and I thrive on challenges that involve helping others.
I have over four years teaching experience and will be in my fifth year of teaching from September 2017 onwards. Previously, two years of which were as Head of Department (HoD) for both A-Level PE and Geography and one year as an ESL teacher at Princess Nora University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and most recently an A-Level Geography teacher at a Sixth Form College in Hull. I am now employed in a Secondary School in Hertfordshire teaching the full range of KS3, GCSE and A-Level Geography starting from January 2018.
I was previously a mentor, whilst studying as an undergraduate, at a high school in Cardiff. Mentoring sessions were held for those students at risk of disengagement and who were borderline. Upon completion of the programme, the students grades were significantly higher than expected; following weekly mentor meetings with me and upon completion of individual action plans with SMART goals in place. My lessons are fun, engaging and stimulating and will keep you thinking long after the lesson has finished.
Subject knowledge is very important and plays a large part in passing exams. I can help you to obtain that by providing additional reading material that is not necessarily in your textbook but in journal and magazine articles. This will give you "the edge" when answering your extended answers (especially at AS and A-Level). But what if I told you that knowledge is only one part?
The key factor is having the tools to utilise that knowledge to the best advantage and answer the question as accurately as possible. Understanding command words for example like "Evaluate" and "Analyse" are crucial in obtaining the best results (especially in extended essay answers). Exam and revision techniques are therefore also significant. I aim to show students how to work 'smarter' and not necessarily 'harder'. I combine a teaching and mentoring approach when tutoring students so that clear goals are realistic, achievable and are individual to each student's needs. We agree on an action plan using SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and within a designated Time scale) goals so the student should never feel overwhelmed or feel that the goals are unrealistic.
Just to provide an idea of previous tuition success stories:
An A-Level OCR PE Student in Cardiff who previously attained a 'U' Grade (prior to tuition) for her AS PE exam. Her mum contacted me for extra help via online lessons from September 2016 to June 2017. I was overjoyed to find out that she has recently attained a 'B' Grade for her A2 PE Summer 2017 exams. She has now secured her chosen university place studying a BSc. Hons. in Sport Science.
Another example is an Edexcel A Level PE student who previously attained a 'U' grade (prior to tuition) in his mock exams in January 2017. His father contacted me wanting extra help via online lessons from January 2017 to June 2017. He has since achieved a 'C' grade and following this success will continue his tuition with me into his second year of linear exams.
The most recent success story was where I tutored a GCSE Geography student in Hull. She travelled to my home address and also received online Skype lessons. She successfully achieved an A* in GCSE Geography in August 2017 and has now secured a place at college to study all of her A-Level choices that she wanted to pursue.
To reiterate, I am happy to travel to the tutee (if within a suitable distance) or I am equally happy to have the student visit me at home for lessons. Online tuition is also available, and as it can be acknowledged, is just as effective as in person.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

We have found her to be of great help for GCSE geog revision .
Recommend her wholeheartedly
Not only does Adele support the subject matter, but brings skills and techniques for the exam itself, these skills help for all exams and not just the subject taught.
Adele is friendly and works with you to find a time and day that suits for the tutoring session and also visits your home to conduct it, hence for convenience, and security you cannot get better,
We would fully recommend Adele to anyone looking for a tutor, and can see the difference she has made in a short time.
I wait in anticipation for his results and I wish him the very best of luck in his future studies.
