I am an enthusiastic, supportive and lively tutor of English, offering online tuition for KS1-KS4 English, and TEFL. Currently studying English and Classics in my second year at University, I am passionate about my subjects and aim to inspire the same love of learning in my students. I am patient and gentle, aiming to build confidence in each students through constant reassurance and praise.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently supporting international students with their primary English curriculum, via zoom. After assessing the students' level, I prepare engaging materials, interactive role plays and grammar games to support their learning.

I have 5 years of experience as a youth worker, working closely with children of all ages and abilities. I am an encouraging and supportive tutor who is able to draw out the best in my students, and to inspire them with confidence. I have experience working with children with Autism and ADHD.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to create a stimulating teaching environment that will capture the interest of my students and engage them in learning. Each lesson is tailored to the needs of the student and to their unique style of learning, with clear goals and structured steps to achieving those goals. Methods will vary depending on the age and ability of the student.

For KS3 - KS4, I prepare students in detail for the requirements of the GCSE exams, clearly explaining the mark scheme, providing extensive practice from past paper questions and exemplar responses, so they will be confident that they are fully prepared for the exam.

For KS1-KS2, I work closely with each child on spelling, punctuation and grammar; reading comprehension skills, sentence formation and composition. I will use a variety of activities depending on my student, including engaging PowerPoint presentations, interactive grammar games and creative writing prompts.
Lesson length varies depending on the age of the child. For KS4 lessons are usually 60 minutes long, whilst for KS1-2 this could be 30-45 minutes.
