I am Head of Maths of a Redbridge school with over a 1300 students on roll and teach maths to 11-19 year olds. I graduated from Cambridge University with BA, MEng and MA honours degrees. I am a maths specialist teacher and have been teaching for over 15 years. I love teaching maths which is why I offer tutoring service on the weekend and weekday evenings. I have created my own maths website which has video tutorials and resources to support children with GCSE and A-Level maths. Prior to my teaching career I was a Structural Design Engineer working for an international company. I offer both face to face and online lessons. The online lesson setup I use is very similar in experience to face to face lessons and as effective.

I am a fully qualified and experienced maths teacher of KS3, KS4 & KS5. I have been teaching for over 15 years.
I am a teacher of maths by profession and hold the post of head of maths of a state school. I tutor students of all abilities.

Case studies:

Student 1 was on a GCSE grade 6 in year 10. With my support and guidance they achieved a grade 9 in year 11.

Student 2 was on GCSE grade 2 in year 10. With my guidance and support they achieved a grade 5 in year 11.

Student 3 was on grade C in year A-level maths. With my support and guidance they achieved an A* in A-level maths. He go into medicine.

Tutoring Approach

I provide personalised learning for students targetting their weaknesses. I am friendly and approachable person who loves teaching maths. I deliver a programme of study specific to the need of each student. My approach is to teaching maths is to give students a deeper conceptual understanding of maths and make connections between different topics within maths. This prepares the students with skills so that they can tackle difficult maths problems independently. I do this by relating new learning to the students previous knowledge and building on this. I set weekly homework and tests so students and parents can see the progress being made. I also get students to do a lot of exam practice in order to develop their exam technique which makes them more confident in their ability. They then go into exams confident, knowing that they can achieve the grade that they want because they have done it in practice. Consequently students are more successful in exams.
