My name is Aaron Newell. I am originally from Jamaica where I taught for twelve (12) years. I was recruited from Jamaica and invited here to teach mathematics. I have degree in mathematics and I also have a degree in physics. I am a trained teacher and I am very confident in what I do. At the moment, I teach at an Outstanding Academy in South London. I have great success in getting students to pass their gcse examinations. I am also an Examiner which simply means that I mark actual examination scripts.
I have been teaching for fifteen years. During this time I have experienced tremendous success and most of my students have gone on to do very well academically. In fact, some have gone on to become Mathematics Teachers of which I am very proud. I enjoy teaching and I get quite emotional and excited whenever why students do well.
My approach to tutoring is problem-solving based. I strongly believe that students are better able to learn and grasp concepts when they are able to model and conceptualise what they are doing. I like to take my students from the concrete to the abstract through a process of modelling.
