Personal Description:
I taught IT, Computing, and Maths in secondary schools for 7 years. Having moved out of teaching in 2018, I train and tutor to keep myself up to date and for more flexible hours to gain a better work/family time balance.
Training Experience:
I taught Maths and Computing up to GCSE for 5 years until became a Head of Department for Computing and IT in my most recent position where I worked for another year before leaving teaching due to family circumstances. I taught up to A-level in Computer Science and have experience with a wide variety of exam boards requiring office skills such as PowerPoint or Access Databases as well as programming and more advanced database languages like mySQL. I have experience providing training in IT skills to staff and students alike and continue to support colleagues in IT use in my current job.
I have also had hands on experience with networks, repairing and building computers as an IT technician both self employed and in schools.
Training Approach:
Happy to be as structured or as flexible as the student/client requires. I have experience of working with a wide variety of ages and abilities and so am very comfortable adapting what I teach with the person in front of me.
