My name is Leon, and I am a software developer with over 20 years experience who can help you learn skills in programming and web development to access or extend your career as a professional. By hiring me, you are able to benefit from my extensive experience of the industry that has allowed me to discover the most efficient routes into software and web development careers.
Training Experience:
I have delivered commercial training for corporate and academic organisations for over 10 years, with programmes delivered for professionals, graduates and bootcamps. My work has also been featured in The Guardian, on BBC radio and in industry magazines from Future Publishing.
Training Approach:
With a specific focus on making programming easier to understand, I help you to build your skills in software and web development by explaining the concepts in ways that are relatable. Every lesson is based around a practical exercise that provides you with an opportunity to extend your knowledge through experimentation. This approach allows you to learn the reasons behind high quality functioning code. All of my lessons present the concepts of programming in ways that are relevant to both academic and commercial requirements so that you can understand its relevance to developing your career.
My teaching and mentoring is provided with access to an online login that provides you with access to additional content and ability to develop a learning portfolio with notes and sample code.

My Son is in Year 10 and heading towards his GCSE’s and was struggling with fractions, after just a few days my Son commented that he’d been given a fractions paper in class and he said he could answer the questions with confidence and that he knew the answers. He said this was because of what Leon had taught him. We will be asking Leon to continue tutoring my Son which I’m confident will improve his grades.

Leon is helping her gain an understanding of the subject and getting her ready to start A levels computer science at a good level with firm grasp of programming and coding.

Leon has been tutoring my son now for several weeks, and it has been a complete sucess. The pace and style are adjusted to suit my son's needs; to ensure that he does understand fully and Leon gradually builds his confidence. In the weekly lesson they cover so much, my son has the support he needs and is comfortable to ask questions and reflect on what he has learnt. This is my first time of using a tutor, and I would recommend Leon openly as a tutor.

From Jenny (/5): Leon had a very pleasant manner and he made a great effort to attend the session at short notice. His expertise in maths was obvious as was his approach to dyslexic students. My only concern was Leon's lively approach may have tired Nathan out for an evening session, as his dyslexia can make things difficult to process. Although I m sure other parents/student would find Leon's enthusiasm an added bonus!
