Styles of dance taught:
From the artistic Spanish capital comes Lourdes Fernandez, who began to dance at the age of five. From that moment all her life unfolded through the learning of this discipline. She studied dance at the conservatory of Madrid, and afterwards she obtained degree at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid where she explored her inspiration of committing herself to teaching. She continued her professional journey by completing a master in Performing Arts in the same university, which widened her perspective about every form of creative expression. At the same time she taught dance in Saint Louis University in Madrid. Still in Madrid she participated at the International Gala of Dance for UNESCO.
Successively, she developed her skills as professor in different styles of dance such as Ballet, Spanish dance and Flamenco, and currently she is working as dancer at different projects in London like Alma Gitana, Ida & Vuelta ensemble, Prana company and others, performing in venues like Union Chapel, Ronnie Scotts, The forge, Richmix, SOAS, Greenwich University and others. She attended different festivals around London like City of London Festival and Brighton Festival. At the same time she teaches flamenco in Nido King’s Cross, for different levels, and she runs flamenco workshop for various colleges across London. She took part to voluntary work at the International Investigation Congress of Spanish Dance in University Of Nebrija in Madrid at the OBR Flash Mob in London as a choreographer.
Lourdes is constantly looking to develop new forms of expression to enrich the language of Flamenco with other kinds of music and dance. She is currently planning new shows in and outside London.
