Personal Description::
I was a professional dancer working freelance worldwide as principal and head girl.
I am Northerner with a good sense of humour and enjoy working with people from all backgrounds.
As a child, I competed in Latin & Ballroom placing Gold or Silver every time.
Now I teach and pass on those performance and technique skills.
Offering In-venue sessions from May 2021 and also offering Zoom consultations and sessions.
Dance Instruction/Teaching Experience::
I was a professional dancer working freelance world wide as principle and head girl.
I ran my own ballet school, LCN Dance Academy, at weekends. I am a Registered teacher through bbodance with access to bbodance dance examinations and scholarships, I am a registered licencee for RAD Silver Swan Ballet Cambridgeshire. Assessor for Communities 1st. Para Dance UK inclusive and wheelchair dance certificate.
I create bespoke wedding dances and have been teaching a wide range of dance genres (and Japanese language beginners) since 1999.
I deliver training to teachers in regard to inclusive practice which includes dance for wheelchair users
Teaching Approach::
Friendly social easy paced style. I am a very patient teacher that is willing to repeat or try different methods of delivery to suit, always with a view to building confidence and enjoyment.

From Sian (/5): We booked Lisa in late 2019 to learn a wedding waltz and took 3 private 2-hour lessons. From the beginning, Lisa was so friendly and enthusiastic about helping us find the perfect routine that suited our experience (not much!), personalities and chosen song. She was also very flexible with timing and practise venues for us to meet since we don't have a car! Before I went to the first class I was very wary about managing to learn the dance in time but by lesson 2 I was already so much more confident and happy with the way the routine took shape from Lisa's ideas and instruction. Our dance on the day of the wedding was great fun and we got lots of cheers from our guests for the special moves! Thankyou so much for your help Lisa!

Lisa was very flexible to accommodate our availability and was very patient with our basis skill set.
She managed to teach us a lovely foxtrot choreography for our wedding in 3hrs spread over less than 10days.
I would absolutely recommend Lisa and cannot wait to book her again in the future.

From Melanie (/5): Lisa was a FANTASTIC teacher to my fiancé and I! We decided to do a First Dance a few short weeks before our wedding, and immediately realized that we needed lessons. Lisa was able to schedule a few extra-long sessions with us in order to ensure we had enough time to polish up a simple, romantic and fun routine - which was exactly what we were looking for. We can't say enough good things about Lisa and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their dance skills - she can work very quickly and effectively with even the most novice of dancers!

Lisa has consistently provided key insights, notes, and plans, along with being extremely flexible and accomodating to my ever-changing schedule and venue. As both I and my (now) husband have the proverbial two left feet I felt nervous at our first class but Lisa was brilliant. She very quickly put us at our ease and took the time to really think about choreographing a routine which was not only suited to the song we’d chosen but also suited our personalities and dance abilities (or lack there of!). The result was a great routine which my husband and I really enjoyed performing at our wedding - and from the guest feedback it seemed as if they enjoyed it too!
