Styles of dance taught:
Professional Dance teacher UKA - Licentiate. I've been dancing Salsa since 2002 and started teaching in 2008. I run a very successful Salsa dance club in Northampton where I also teach group classes. As well as tutoring individuals I've been hired on many occasions to teach at private party bookings, clubs, and bars. I have a very strong insight into Latin music through my DJing interest which helps my pupils with understanding the music more fully.
Dance Instruction/Teaching Experience::
Since 2008, I've been teaching both privately one to one and group class Salsa dancing LA On1 style, Cha cha cha, Salsa On2, Bachata, & Merengue. I am a fully qualified UKA accredited Professional Dance Teacher at Licentiate level in the Club Dance Salsa Division.
Clients and students also have the added reassurance that I have ITC First Aid Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work certification and Full DBS Enhanced Certification to teach dance to children.
I cover teaching from absolute beginners with no previous dance experience to experienced dancers at intermediate/advanced level.
Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha cha cha:
My focus is very much on the technique. With my private lessons you will very quickly learn the correct techniques to more effectively lead/follow allowing you to dance with more confidence. The focus is as much on interpreting music as it is learning turn patterns.
First wedding dances:
With over ten years dance teaching experience in Salsa partner dancing, I can help you create an individual first dance choreography for your wedding day that's adapted for you and your specific choice of song. On the day with your choreography you will enter the dance floor full of confidence, with beaming smiles and heads held high. Incorporating Salsa and Bachata style dance moves that work in unison with your choice of music can easily be achieved even if you're both complete novices at dancing. There can be as many turn patterns as you would like to have and you're comfortable with. The turn patterns can be relatively easy or as complex as you can handle. I place focus on how to correctly step through the turn patterns, how to maintain balance and posture, how to make the bridegroom not look wooden, body and arm styling for the lady, and maintaining an overall completely natural look and confidence in the dance for both.
For wedding dances I would recommend at least three sessions of two hours each. Choose 'Pay as Go' or save by booking a set of lessons.
Get in touch today and let me help you take away the worry of creating your First Dance.
The price quoted in the pricing table is for a minimum of two hours (i.e. £50.00) as one hour is not enough time to cover everything I like to go through in a private session. It will not cost any more if we go slightly over the two hours.
Private lessons are normally taught at my home, I'm happy to travel to you if you prefer for the addition of a small travel charge on a per session basis.
I'm more than happy to discuss your requirements prior to your first lesson, you will find that my rates are by far the best on the market, plus any bookings can be rearranged at the last minute without any penalty.
