Personal Description:

Having graduated from Manchester University I trained as an accountant with Reed International and studied up to Professional Part II of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants.I then became a teacher and progressed to become Head of Economics and Business Studies. In my last years as a teacher I taught A Level Accounting

Training Specialisms:

My University course specialised in inflation cost accounting. Studying up to Professional Part II of the ICMA and teaching A Level Accounting has given me a sound knowledge of Financial and Management Accounting.

Training Methods:

I am a conscientious tutor who is patient and adopts a methodical approach to learning. Initially I would ensure the fundamental concepts are acquired and then working through past questions I would build up the confidence of the tutee to enable them to have a "can do" attitude. I recently tutored a student using this approach who needed to resit her Financial Accounting Module at Liverpool University. With my help she passed.

Lessons are well structured and tailor made to my son' s requirement. He is patient and kindly accomodates all the requests.
My son' s confidence grew significantly and thanks to David's support he will do very well in upcoming exams.
I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend David to anyone looking for a tutor with high standards.

It was a difficult time due to Covid, we had wanted a tutor that could teach him face to face but obviously this was no longer possible. David made the transition from personal tutor to online teaching seamless and my son was absolutely fine.
Conagh did better than expected and I attribute this to the weekly lesson he received from David.
Conagh has been accepted to study Economics at university and is absolutely thrilled.
