I am a fully qualified and highly successful teacher with 30 years experience in the classroom. The children I work with always make significant progress. I have lots of experience in Early Years (children aged 3 - 5), teaching phonics and maths, and have worked all the way through to Year 6. This means I have a wide range of different approaches and techniques at my fingertips to help your child. I am patient and cheerful, but always challenge the children I work with so they can achieve as much as possible.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring maths and English one-to-one (both face-to-face and online) for over five years, and find my learners stay with me long term. Alongside this, I still teach in the classroom, which means I am up to date with the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage.

Tutoring Approach

Parents seek tuition for their children for different reasons. Perhaps your child has gaps in key concepts, or is lacking confidence in class, or is falling behind their peers. Perhaps your child needs more challenge to achieve what they are capable of. If your child is worried about the Year 6 SATs, tuition will make all the difference.

I offer patient, engaging and well-structured sessions. I tailor each session to address your child's individual needs. with plenty of practical explanations if necessary to ensure your child fully understands what they are learning.

Each session also includes homework so your child can practise what they have been learning, as well as short feedback so you know what we have been working on.

I have some availability after school/evening during the week. I am also able to tutor home educated children during the day.

I can travel to you, and I also tutor in my home.
