Online English and Geography Tuition

I am a 2nd year Law Student at the University of Birmingham and I aspire to become a commercial barrister once I graduate in 2025. I am an exceptionally high-achieving student, and I finished my first year of university with an overall 1st (70%+) in my legal studies. Aside from law, I am immensely passionate about humanities and arts, especially English Language and Literature. In English, I achieved A*s at both GCSEs and A-levels so not only am I highly familiar with the content and exam technique, but I also have just developed a great love for the subject after studying it for so many years. I am extremely eager to be able to pass on my passions to determined and motivated students willing to expand their knowledge and expertise in the English language and literature. I also teach Religious Studies and Geography to GCSE students, after developing a great interest and achieving high grades in these subject areas at the GCSE level.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring students for just over two years now, in all 4 subjects: English Literature, English Language (A levels & GCSE), Geography, and RE (GCSE) both in-person and online!

Tutoring Approach

I adopt my approach based on how the student feels they are best able to learn. I ask what their best learning styles are, and how they would personally revise at home, making sure I know what makes them feel most confident and comfortable. After years of experience and deep familiarity with the subjects I teach, I am highly flexible in my teaching methods. Some of my personal favourite approaches to teaching include active recall, which includes constantly testing students on the content I have taught throughout the lessons, making sure that they understand all aspects of the subject, and are not falling behind in any areas. I believe tests are a key check to knowledge. What's for sure is that I give my students extensive, detailed, and thorough notes in every lesson, including visual and diagrammatic aids, and encourage them to ask as many questions as possible in lessons, to make sure there is no confusion.
