My name is Yeliz. I specialised in Special Educational Needs, mainly of Autism and Language Delay. I have over 15 years of experience in both school and home settings using variety of techniques and strategies. I settled in England in 2000. After completing my GSCE and Level 3 studies, I went onto study BSc Psychology. After a year of break, I studied PGCE and qualified as a teacher in 2009. Recently (2022) I completed my MSc degree in Child and Adolescent Mental Health which consolidated my existing knowledge and hands-on experience within a greater depth. My own journey and achievements in education continue to be an inspiring example for my students. I currently work as an outreach teacher for the local council teaching vulnerable children and young people with various conditions as well as tutoring children with Autism and comorbid neurodevelopmental conditions privately.
I am a devoted teacher and love working with children. Indeed, the children and their dedicated parents are at the centre of my devotion.
I qualified as a teacher of Health and Social Care/Psychology with 'Special Education' experience in 2009.
I have also trained as an 'Applied Behaviour Analysis Tutor' through an outstanding ABA school's training scheme between 2012-2014, working with children and young people with autism. From 2014 onwards I have been working both as SEN outreach for the local council and private SEN tutor using partly the strategies of applied behaviour analysis following ABA curriculum for autism home programs. Certainly, understanding the motivation and mechanisms of behaviour has helped me much for providing the right environment and resources for my students. However, in my practice, I combine multiple approaches that take into account my students' emotional, educational, and developmental needs.
My teaching skills and understanding in the field of SEN education developed further after completing my MSc degree in Child and Adolescent Mental Health in 2022. Planning, preparing specialised resources and individualised learning targets for children in different year groups, including children with autism, ADHD, speech impediment and anxiety related conditions enabled me to provide a sound curriculum that leads to a successful learning. Teaching various levels in many different settings including youth centres, care homes and family homes, requires a quick decision making, an ability to transition from a grade to another grade, and also to be able to utilise the available space and resources effectively. Hence, I developed to be a confident educator who is constantly solidifying skills and understanding in the field.
I am employed full time; however, I would like to take on a few private students in the evenings, weekends and holidays preferably online, for widening my experience and skills as well as for an additional income.
I am a committed and caring teacher who is passionate about removing the barriers to learning and achievement. Identifying the ways in which an individual learns best can remove the barriers and make a significant difference in student achievement. Another critical point is to understand that each pupil is unique. A devoted teacher must take this into account when preparing learning resources for lessons. Mutual and genuine respect, honesty and responsible attitude are also some of the essential key features of my teaching approach.
