Online Chemistry Tutoring

I'm a passionate A level Chemistry Tutor who obtained a First Class chemistry degree from Queen Mary University of London as well as having completed a work placement at GSK within their Medicinal Chemistry Department synthesising chemical compounds.

Having having personally gone from getting a U grade in my first couple of assessments in Year 12 to a C at AS and finally an A grade by the end of the two years, I am very keen to share my expertise and knowledge to help students obtain better A level chemistry grades and help boost their self esteem and confidence.

Tutoring Experience

2 years of experience tutoring A level chemistry students.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to create a multi sensory style of learning using PowerPoint slides made by myself which aim to deliver specification content in as concise a form as possible. I also make use of diagrams, images, colourful and visually appealing content as well as videos where useful to make learning chemistry more engaging and enjoyable. This makes my teaching content suitable for students with different learning styles.

My approach to ensure student progress is as follows:

1) Assess students strengths and weaknesses using an assessment.

2) Teach new content/ help students understand areas of weakness with the aid of my slides and a variety of questions and answers. Also teaching students how to answer exam questions in the correct manner to ensure no marks are lost.

3) Give students homework to do following each lesson as well as periodically reviewing/assessing past topics to ensure understanding and retention of information.

4) Ensuring students have the right exam strategy and personal revision strategy in place as well as always adapting the teaching plan when necessary to ensure optimal progress is being made.
