English and Psychology Teacher in Edmonton

My academic age ranges are GCSE, A Levels and University Level across all subjects that apply essay written assignments and English language speaking. I also coach general study skills, developing a writing practice, and creative writing for adults. All levels are welcome.

Most academic classes and degrees are heavily reliant on written communication regardless of the subject matter. Effective written communication is a key life skill. Writing takes courage and discipline: skills essential for all areas of life. I will work with you whatever your level and struggle.

Tutoring Experience

I hold two degrees: BA in Literature and Film, and a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology. My marks consistently hit the upper-tier distinction bracket of 86% and above. My academic career taught me that study and writing skills are buildable at any level with the right strategy. I also enjoy creative writing. I have published works in magazines and have been shortlisted for creative writing competitions.

I also hold A Levels in Media Studies, History, and Literature (A-B range marks).

I am experienced in tutoring general study skills, academic GCSE, A Level and University, English speaking, and creative writing. I have helped people at all stages, from developing basic planning of essays to supporting them through writing their dissertations. It gives me great fulfilment to see students build self-confidence.

I worked as a Mental Health Lead Mood Mentor for a local charity for several years. I also took a role as a mentor for young people in one-to-one sessions at a local secondary school. These roles have built my supportive listening skills. My experience in mental health management is present in my approach.

Tutoring Approach

I have a warm and patient disposition. I believe each student can improve, at any stage.

I believe in teaching implementable, manageable steps to help create an independent writer confident in their unique learning and writing style. I will work with you to explore what tailored and unique approach will work best for you.
