Tutoring Approach

Over the course of my career I used to work using a VAK approach. I also developed an interest in the theory of Multiple Intelligence and while at Keele University I developed a test which I have used on my tutor groups to help them with exam revision. I also have experience of Learning Styles, Hemispheric Differences in the Brain and Music and Learning (which I use frequently in my lessons). It is very important to see what type of learner you are dealing with.

Before retiring I managed the Communication Department of the Inclusion Faculty I have been working with students on the Autism Spectrum Disorder and have worked with Girls on the Autistic spectrum and student with Pathological Demand Avoidance. Here I developed and used a number of visual approaches to help the students.
