I have been a private tutor for the last 4 years, specialising in tutoring 13+ GCSE and A-Level. I studied English Language and Literature as an Undergraduate at the University of Oxford. Before this I was an academic scholar at Dulwich College and a recipient of the English Literature Prize.

Confidence is a major factor in essay subjects. Students who believe in the answers they are giving will consistently do far better work. I help students know what exactly how they can improve and build their confidence in the process.

Tutoring Approach

I help students prepare for essay subject exams. My specialism is English literature; my method is exam focused. You need to train specific skills to excel in formal exams, but you also need to know how to translate these into answers that examiners can mark highly.

I assess a your written work against your exams' mark scheme. In our lesson we will go through how you can improve:

1) The baseline analysis, writing, and structuring skills you need for any essay subject.

2) Answering in a way that examiners are able to mark highly. In pre-university subjects, marking criteria are strict. Assessors need to know that you are hitting all the right marks to give you top grades.

I will then give you practice questions designed so that you can train the specific skills you need to do well in exams. I will also help you prepare for interviews.
