I’m Will. I have a master’s in chemistry and have been tutoring online for 5 years now, full-time for the past year or so. I have a keen interest in all things STEM and love motivating others to see the beauty in science.

I am friendly and passionate about teaching. I like to build a rapport with and gain the trust of my students to make them feel comfortable, engaged, and help them enjoy the learning experience.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for 6 years now, full-time for the past 2 years. During this time I have delivered over 2000 hours of online tuition in one-on-one and group settings. I have tutored in excess of 100 students of ages ranging from 11 to 30.

I have primarily taught chemistry and maths up to A-Level, I also offer science up to a GCSE level.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is largely discussion-based. I have found that difficult concepts are much easier to understand if they are broken down into manageable chunks which can be pieced together in a logical manner. This gives the student a deeper understanding of the concept and develops their ability to solve problems and break down questions delivered in an unfamiliar context. My teaching is supplemented with the use of diagrams and various other resources to aid explanations. I am an energetic and enthusiastic tutor and really understand the value of building up a rapport with my students. There will be no droning on and looking at powerpoints. I've found this helps keep the lessons interesting and keeps the student engaged - crucial for online one-to-one tuition.
