I have 8 years of experience working in research, primarily biology. Now I wish to transition to a role which enables me to fulfil what I believe to be the most important goal of conservationists: educating the next generation of scientists.
I grew up in Surrey, in the countryside, and have great respect for the natural world. I am also a friendly, personable individual who is confident working with children and adolescents.
I have no formal teaching experience, but I often took on training roles at my previous positions, including training researchers in field and lab techniques. I have also done some work experience as a teaching assistant.
I have always used pictures, diagrams and photos in training, and I am a firm believer in the adage that a picture is worth a thousand words. I am also good at finding the common ground between two subjects, and my patience and kindness would make me a good candidate for tutoring.
