Hi I'm Will!

I graduated from Cambridge University two years ago with a 1st Class in Classics and Linguistics, and my greatest passion is to learn and teach languages.

At various times in my life I've personally tried to learn almost 20 different languages (though Latin and Greek remain my favourites!), so I know very well how it feels to be staring at a page full of weird-looking words, and not have a clue where to start.

Helping people to cut through the chaos, and see the beauty of how languages work, is one of the most satisfying feelings I've had through my years of tutoring both children and adults.

I also offer tuition in Mathematics and History in both of which I have A*s at A-Level.

Tutoring Experience

In the past 5 years, I have had experience teaching both adults and children aged 5-18 in countries around the world, including Japan and Indonesia, as well as here in the UK.

These experiences have taught me the importance of sympathy and patience in teaching, and I will always be able to slow down or speed up the course of learning as required, supporting you all the way.

Tutoring Approach

Flexibility is central to my approach, and I will cater to your needs first and foremost. If you want to go slowly, we will go slowly. If you are a fast learner, we can go fast. If you are working towards specific exams, I will help you to succeed in them. If you just want some casual practice and interesting learning, we can do that too!

In our first lesson, we will discuss your goals and your style of learning (I want to understand how you like to learn, what is easy for you, and what is difficult for you).

From this, we will develop a plan together to achieve your goals.

All of our lessons will be well-planned to produce an interesting and valuable experience for you. And I will always be a friendly, approachable and patient teacher.

I'm happy to run lessons of any length, and at any frequency, and I offer both in-person and online tuition.
