I am a very well-qualified teacher of German with over 30 years' teaching experience. I love the German language and my hobbies including watching films and the news in German and reading German detective novels. I have family and friends in Germany and I speak to them in German on a regular basis. In total, I have spent seven years living, studying and working in Germany (both in the Federal Republic of Germany and also what used to be East Germany) so I am completely fluent in the language. I am also very passionate about teaching German and over the last 2 or 3 years I have specialised in helping students to prepare for their GCSE and A level exams - with great results!
I have taught German at all levels from beginner's to A level both in schools and in a college of further education in England. I have also taught English as a foreign language in Frankfurt and in Dubai in the UAE.
I am familiar with the AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge German exams and am currently working on a freelance basis as a German tutor for a well-known home-schooling organisation which prepares students for the IGCSE.
I have also worked with children with dyslexia and autism.
I first of all spend time getting to know my learners' needs, language level and interests and I then prepare classes based on this knowledge. I usually include speaking, reading, listening and writing exercises and as well as grammar but it all depends on what the student is looking for.
