Wendi

My name is Wendi and I am a passionate and dedicated tutor with a strong background in language and mathematics. I hold a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Warwick and have studied both English and Mandarin at an advanced level. With experience living and studying in both China and the UK, I am familiar with different educational systems and learning styles. I am enthusiastic about helping students build confidence and achieve their goals, and I believe that learning can be enjoyable, inspiring, and tailored to each individual. I tutor English as a foreign language, Mandarin, and Mathematics.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked as a junior high school English teacher in China, where I taught English as a foreign language to students aged 12-15. Additionally, I have experience teaching Mandarin to both native and non-native speakers, helping students enhance their speaking, listening, and writing skills. I have also tutored Mathematics to primary and middle school students, focusing on building strong foundations and problem-solving abilities. Through both in-person and online teaching, I have supported students with diverse needs and learning styles, helping many of them make noticeable progress and gain confidence in their studies.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is student-centered and tailored to each learner’s needs and interests. For language subjects, I focus on creating an interactive and immersive environment, encouraging students to communicate and express themselves confidently. I use a variety of materials, such as real-life topics, games, and multimedia resources, to make lessons engaging and practical. In Mathematics, I emphasize understanding core concepts, developing logical thinking, and applying knowledge to solve real-world problems. I believe in providing clear explanations, plenty of practice, and positive feedback, so that every student can enjoy learning and achieve steady progress.
