Hi, my name is Wei (Eric). I am a fully qualified and passionate Computer Science and ICT teacher with over five years of experience teaching the UK curriculum in international schools. Currently based in Kuwait and moving to the UAE, I have helped students achieve top IGCSE results, including the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award.

I hold a PGCE in Secondary Computer Science from Edge Hill University and a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Computing (Application Development). I specialise in planning high-impact lessons using cognitive load theory and thrive on creating engaging, structured learning experiences for students.

I have experience teaching KS3 and IGCSE classes, leading pastoral care as a Year 11 Pastoral Lead, and embedding real-world digital literacy across the curriculum. I am now expanding my tutoring services to support home-schooled students and those studying remotely.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is student-centred, calm, and structured. I adapt lessons based on each student’s learning profile and encourage active participation using real-world examples, especially in programming and problem-solving. I use tools like spreadsheets, visual aids, and interactive platforms to build strong foundational knowledge.

For younger students or beginners, I focus on clear, guided learning using visuals and scaffolded tasks. For older or more advanced students, I shift toward independent challenges, exam-style questions, and deeper conceptual understanding. I build students’ confidence by connecting theory with hands-on skills.

Whether preparing for IGCSE exams, supporting home learning, or building core ICT capabilities, my lessons are designed to be purposeful, supportive, and progress-driven.
