I am a focussed, driven and confident student and individual. I am a first-class third-year Chemistry student at the University of Manchester, due to start my Masters in September 2023. Throughout my studies, I have maintained complete dedication and have consistently organised my own study timetables. As my course is research-based, I have gained great experience working with pupils and colleagues at all levels, planning and presenting project work to peers and senior academics. I am a confident verbal and written communicator and enjoy interacting with people from all faiths and backgrounds.

Tutoring Experience

I have gained invaluable teaching experience as a private tutor; providing face-to-face home tuition and online lessons via Skype and Zoom. I ensure to make my lessons as interactive with pupils, taking into consideration their needs and requirements and planning lessons to help them develop their ability. I design lessons based on the core curriculum and key exam boards such as OCR, AQA, Edexcel etc. To help students prepare for their GCSEs, I work through past papers with them in timed exam-like conditions and mark work using mark schemes. To ensure students understand where improvements can be made, I will discuss feedback with them in the lessons and provide written feedback. I have also served as a University peer mentor throughout my studies.

Tutoring Approach

I would describe my teaching approach as open, interactive and structured. My teaching approach heavily involves application of content and methods so that pupils can be best prepared for exams!
