I hold a master’s degree in mathematics and a teaching license (QTS). I worked as a Math teacher, mentoring and instructing learners, at college and secondary schools in UK.
Currently, I work at a college as GCSE Math teacher providing lessons for groups of mixed ability learners to develop their foundational and higher-tier math skills. Prior to this, I was employed as a math subject specialist, which required me to work as an interventionist and a mentor for multiple sessions of students in KS3 and KS4. Additionally, I worked with secondary schools across Manchester as a cover Teacher, instructing, giving lessons, providing support, and assisting teachers.
My tutoring approach focuses on delivering engaging math lessons tailored to diverse abilities and needs of learners. I typically follow a structured flow-
20 minutes of direct instruction
20 minutes of guided practice
20 minutes of independent practice
While this is my typical framework for an hour-long session, my approach is always student-centric and highly adaptive. The exact breakdown will flex based on the student's immediate needs, learning style, and specific goals, whether that's taking a new concept or reinforcing previously learned lesson, completing assignments, or preparing for exams.
