Hello! I am Victoria a qualified teacher with a passion for always continuing my own professional development. I am a positive and enthusiastic young person that loves to help and encourage others. I'm currently teaching in a large inner city primary school in Year 6 and have worked here for 6 years. I’ve previously worked in other schools through a supply agency within a variety of year groups having been graded an outstanding teacher. When I’m not teaching, me and my son are always playing in the garden, exploring new places and making learning fun.
I am currently in my ninth year of teaching after completing my 3 year BA degree achieving a 2:1 specialising in Science, PE and Computing within the primary curriculum. Across my placement and time as a teacher, I have taught in a variety of year groups from Year 1-6. My current school has a large proportion of children with SEND and EAL, which has allowed me to adapt my teaching strategies to meet the needs of all pupils. In addition to my current work, I also have years of experience tutoring children to close gaps within the curriculum, excel further and assist in preparing children for secondary and grammar school.
I believe it's vital for children to have confidence and believe in themselves and what they are doing. As a child, I had very little confidence in my own ability and want to try my best to ensure I change the mindset of young children. I appreciate and understand children learn at different paces with preferred methods, which I will adapt to, to get the best out of our lessons together.
I believe in setting goals and challenges and not just working toward them but completing them and going beyond giving children some self motivation to try their very best.
My sessions will have a calm and friendly atmosphere where mistakes and questions are welcomed on our learning journey.
Homework will be left after each session, if you wish to continue your child's development in my absence, and a full briefing of what has been covered in the lesson will be available to parents/carers once the session is complete.
