Private Law and Sociology Tuition in Wellington

I currently work as a teacher of Sociology and Criminology at a sixth form college in Taunton. I have consistently achieved excellent results in all of my subject areas and strive to get the best out of every one of my students. I am passionate about my subject-area and have been able to transfer that passion into my students year on year.
In lessons I am upbeat and engaging, and my biggest priority is to create a safe space in which students can share their ideas and ask questions. I am friendly, approachable and determined to help young people achieve their full potential.

Tutoring Experience

I am in my seventh year of teaching. I have experience teaching most areas of Sociology (both A-Level & GCSE) and Criminology (A-Level). These subjects are extremely popular in my school, and I have consistently gained excellent results.
For Sociology A-Level, I specialise in Education, Media, Crime & Deviance and Culture/Identity - Following the AQA specification. I can do Beliefs and Families at request.
For Sociology GCSE, again following the AQA specification, I am able to tutor the entire course - covering basic concepts, research methods, families, education, crime & deviance and stratification.
I am also able to tutor for Criminology (WJEC Level 3). I specialise in Unit 1 & 3 (the controlled assessment units) but can also tutor for Unit 2 & 4 where needed.

Tutoring Approach

I am able to adapt my approach to the needs of the student. Usually the student will fall into one of three categories - needing help with exam technique, needing additional subject knowledge, or needing a confidence boost. I am able to help in all cases and will adapt my methods to what they feel they need.
I will also assess their learning style in the first few meetings to find out the best ways to help them revise/learn. Every student is different, but there is a method to help everyone.
