I'm a qualified English Teacher (QTS, PGCE) with a passion for teaching English Literature.
Since graduating with my Literature degree, I have spent one year as an in-house tutor at a secondary school (September 2018-July 2019) and have been a qualified English Teacher from July 2020 to present. I have seen through four full GCSE groups with a good set of results and worked on interventions with key students throughout this time.
At a GCSE level there is likely a need for improving both skills and developing an understanding of set texts. I primarily work these needs out through extended writing in the style of the exam board.
At KS3 there is a greater need for skills to be improved so there would be a greater emphasis on analysis of language, essay writing, or creative writing skills.
