Music Lessons in Haringey

Since secondary-school I have been a regular performer and teacher of recorder, oboe, conducting and theory, with experience in both class-room and 1-on-1 teaching. No matter what your age and level of experience, I would love to help you fulfil your goals and explore your interests in music, whatever they might be! You're welcome to set up weekly lessons, or just have a one-off lesson. I am willing to travel to you.

Tutoring Experience

I am an Australian / British conductor. In 2014 I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with an MA in Music Performance where I studied oboe with Christopher Cowie (London Philharmonia and Academy of St Martin in the Fields Principal Oboe) and Jill Crowther (London Philharmonia Principal Cor Anglais).

I am currently mentored by Peter Eötvös. I am the director of Zeitgeist, an upcoming online gallery for the presentation of sociopolitical content in a variety of genres through an arts/creative lens.

Between 2015-17 I was Assistant Conductor to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and in 2017 was shortlisted for the Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award.

I was a finalist and prizewinner at the Georg Solti International Conducting Competition with the HR-Sinfonieorchester and Frankfurter Opern und Museumsorchester (2015), and Neeme Jarvi Prize winner at the 2015 Menuhin Festival. I have worked with orchestras internationally including: Sydney Symphony Orchestra, HR-Sinfonieorchester, Ensemble Modern, Frankfurter Opern und Museumsorchester, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Auckland Philharmonia, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

Upcoming projects include the re-launch of Ensemble Eroica alongside poetry, theatre and literary performers, as a new generation of Classical and Romantic performance, first appearances with the Pannon Philharmonic and in 2020 a significant Australian/New Zealand/Asian tour.

Tutoring Approach

With years of tutoring, teaching and coaching experience I am perfectly placed to help to nurture and grow students musical passion. Whether you are learning as part of a hobby or need to ensure top marks in performance and theory, I will ensure you get where you need to be.
