I am an experienced Assistant Headteacher, with over 15 years experience of teaching in a Primary setting. I specialise in Maths and will help pupils prepare for their KS2 SATS or 11+ entry examinations. My love of mathematics helps to enthuse and empower children to explore their own strengths and areas for devlopment.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience of the KS2 maths curriculum having been a class teacher, and Assistant Headteacher, teaching maths for over 15 years. Many of my pupils have gone on to achieve Greater Depth in their KS2 SATS and successfully pass their 11+ enttrancee exams. I recently became a KS2 Marker for the KS2 SATS Mathementics papers.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to make my lessons fun and enjoyable whilst maintaining a clear focus on what needs to be completed. I am able to differentiate my teaching method to cater for any ability range.
My students will quickly realise that making mistakes is fine, it's being able to see those mistakes, accept them and move on, and learn how to avoid making the same mistakes again.
Learning that there can be many different approaches to solving problems is important, so I aim to arm my students with a toolkit of options to choose from.
I use a wide and extensive range of resources to make my sessions as active, interesting and relevant as possible.
