Over the past two years, I have conducted research to demystify the art of teaching at the Guildhall School, ranked as the top music conservatoire for research and music in the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF2021) and league tables, respectively. I can give my students a deeper understanding of these instruments with my scientific knowledge and expertise. I can also simplify complex concepts, allowing my students to achieve the best results and enjoy a fulfilling experience.

My research includes a scientific approach to violin intonation, where I analysed different approaches to intonation in the performance of Bach’s fugue in G minor for solo violin. Additionally, I have pioneered a ground-breaking technique for bow division and the compromises inherent to it, which helps students feel confident when playing.

Tutoring Experience

I hold Violin and Piano teaching positions at Canada Blanch Music Academy and other schools, where I have helped students achieve ABRSM and Trinity grades and guided them to play their favourite songs and pieces. My teaching experience includes students of all levels, from beginners to advanced.

I have played with major orchestras, including the English Chamber Orchestra as part of their “future scheme”, the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, and the Klingen Chamber Orchestra supported by the Embassy of Armenia in the UK. I have also recently worked with composer Nicola Perikhanyan and NPK studio to record a work exhibited in the Media Art in Singapore and One Room Gallery in London, as well as with the world-renowned Decoda chamber music collective.

With my chamber group, I worked alongside the world-renowned Decoda chamber music collective - the resident ensemble at Carnegie Hall in New York City. I developed skills in delivering unique, fun, and creative methods of teaching which utilise storytelling and creativity to foster the teaching journey.

I am proud to say that I studied at the prestigious specialist music school ARTAVE, where I had the opportunity to master the violin and piano, ear training, physics of sound, harmony and theory, and the history of music. My passion for music and dedication to my craft led me to win the first prize at the Philharmonic Music School, where I also achieved the maximum final marks.

I toured Portugal, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom for a series of recitals. I have performed in international competitions and won the II edition of the Philharmonic Society of Vizela competition.

Tutoring Approach

For violin lessons, I offer technique, posture, intonation training, repertoire selection, and interpretation. I teach both classical and popular music and can also help prepare students for exams and auditions. For piano lessons, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and repertoire selection and interpretation. I can teach classical and popular music and help students prepare for exams and auditions.

I am passionate about teaching and creating a positive and enjoyable learning environment for my students. I believe that music can bring joy and fulfilment to people’s lives, and I am committed to helping my students achieve their goals and develop their musical skills. To further enhance my teaching skills, I have attended workshops about the art of teaching, led by renowned educators exploring creative and collaborative music workshop leading, pedagogy, assessment, and perspectives.

I have had the privilege of being coached by the London Symphony Orchestra members and participating in the Orchestral Artistry’s LSO side-by-side orchestra sessions. During these sessions, I received expert instruction from Clare Duckworth, LSO’s first violinist No. 4, on preparation, style, and performance. I also had the honour of playing under the baton of renowned conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and receiving coaching from accomplished musicians Sarah.
