Information About Thomas - Manchester tutor
This is how 3 referees rated Thomas:
Hello! I am a Manchester based professional musician with over 20 years playing experience. I have a BA in Popular Music (1st Class Hons) and an MA in Philosophy (Distinction).
I teach guitar and bass to all levels of ability, including to the Rockschool syllabus. The same is true for music theory, composition, improvisation and production. I can also teach beginner keyboard and drums.
My main passions are improvisation and composition. I also love the philosophy of mind.
I have been giving private music lessons for 3 years. These have involved bass, guitar, songwriting, music theory and approaches to improvisation. Recently I have taught beginner keyboards to 5-15 year olds at Rising Stars Northwest.
During my philosophy studies I mentored groups of secondary school students, covering all areas of philosophy and helping them develop a passion for the subject. I am keen to expand on this experience.
I want to help students discover the joy of music. I believe that helping learners to gain confidence and enjoy playing is just as essential as imparting theoretical knowledge. Lessons should be dynamic and fun, but with enough structure to ensure a clear outcome.
