Online Biology Lessons

I am a post-graduate Veterinary medicine student (U of Bristol) having recently graduated with a 1st class BSc from the Royal Veterinary College (London) in Bioveterinary Science. Biology is a subject that I find fascinating and I am happy to go above and beyond the syllabus to help students with university interviews as well as providing an oversight into getting into Veterinary medicine via UCAS.

Why choose me:
• Previous teaching experience - my most recent tutee went from a "U" in mocks to a high "C" (OCR A2 Biology Aug 2017)
• Polite, friendly and easy to talk to
• Good at explaining concepts using a range of
techniques and styles
• Very adaptive to each learner's needs
• Can teach any exam board for GCSE
• Can give an insight into studying veterinary science/medicine
• UCAS help also available

Thank you for considering me,
All the best.

Tutoring Experience

Since finishing my first degree I have been tutoring A-level biology weekly and thoroughly enjoy teaching this fascinating subject. I have used a variety of teaching techniques and utilised several different methods of teaching such as personalised quizzes, clay models and videos to ensure a greater understanding of Biology. I really enjoy adapting to other people's learning styles and look forward to teaching to more students.

Through ensuring a good knowledge of subject material by reading in depth and around the material and then honing exam skills through the production of exam-style questions, I have been able to help others excel, driven by my natural passion for Biology and Bio-chemistry. I have also produced a series of after-school Biology/nature club lessons for children at my mother's school (teaching runs in the family).

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is to listen and understand how each individual likes to learn in order for me to provide resources (on paper, physical or digital) which will best enhance learning and comprehension of the subject. I believe that a well rounded and firm grasp of all subject material is first needed which can then be translated into good grades through exam focussed application of previous knowledge.

A strong understanding and deeper knowledge of this subject is essential for long term success within the field and true comprehension and understanding will become apparent when applying to universities, both on personal statements and in interviews, and will help candidates stand out from the crowd. I do not want to teach people to become mechanical parrots (unlike many others) as I do not believe that this will aid in long term success.

Having taken my A-levels 4 years ago and having just completed my first degree, I know that good exam discipline, understanding individual learning styles and learning how to work smart are all essential for success and are qualities I have previously demonstrated throughout my time as a student and which I know can be passed on to others.
