Born in Wales to a Welsh mother and a Greek father, I found that I had a love for languages and decided to study French and Spanish in university. This gave me the opportunity to study and live in Lyon and Valencia during my ERASMUS year - it was great fun and I learnt a lot. After finishing my Bachelors degree, I completed my PGCE and have been a primary teacher ever since. Now, I am happily married with a toddler who enjoys playing football.
In 2013, I graduated from the Institute of Education in London and I've been teaching in KS2 ever since. During my career, I have taught in the UK and in British private international schools abroad which follow the National Curriculum.
My experience abroad has allowed me to work with a wide range of pupils, especially pupils who have English as a second language. This has taught me a lot about how pupils learn in different ways.
During Covid, my school went online and therefore we received plenty of training on how to teach our lessons online. This has helped me with my personal online tutoring since starting in September 2023.
I am a great believer in differentiation and therefore I always ensure that my lessons are planned in order to cater to my pupils' personal learning needs and interests. At the end of each lesson, I spend a few minutes listening to my pupils give their own feedback based on their performance during the lesson. After that, I also give my own feedback to the pupil and parent.
