Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified teacher with more than 25 years experience teaching GCSE and A level Maths in schools and colleges. I have taught all ability levels and my students have consistently achieved very good results. Since the last school I worked at closed in 2018, I have worked successfully as a home-schooling tutor.

Tutoring Approach

I am an enthusiastic and caring Maths teacher. I am presently teaching online using zoom and I have the IT skills and equipment (webcam holder, graphic tablet etc) to ensure that my lessons are clear and varied. I believe I give well structured explanations; I always like to explain the reason behind each method instead of just presenting a list of rules. I believe that student confidence is the key to success. I am always patient and I think that my experience enables me to quickly pinpoint student difficulties. As well as clear explanations, I aim to give students the structure and study/revision techniques they need to achieve exam success. I believe that confidence and self-belief is the key to success and my experience enables me to quickly pinpoint student difficulties.
