I have an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham and a PhD in Chemistry from Durham University. My field of expertise is energy storage, and I have extensive experience working with materials for use in Lithium-ion batteries. Alongside research, I also enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge of chemistry.
To date, I have taught and mentored several students ranging from school to university level. My experience includes tutoring GCSE and A-Level students and mentoring and supervising undergraduate research students. I am familiar with all the UK exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I have mainly taught in person but am now switching to online tutoring.
I have a warm and nurturing approach towards tutoring. I aim to provide a safe and judgement-free space where the students feel at ease, especially when it comes to learning complex and challenging topics. My goal is to empower students by helping to increase their confidence and enhance their understanding of chemistry.
I am currently looking to work with students requiring support with GCSE Chemistry (all specifications). I offer a free initial video consultation (~20 mins) to discuss your specific needs and explain my teaching methods in more detail. You are welcome to get in touch to see if we are a good fit for each other.
