Online Tuition for Maths and English

I am a creative writer and director who works in resource development for an NGO in the Middle East. I am a friendly and outgoing teacher who always brings a sense of humour to the job. I have experience working in schools and enjoy encouraging children and young people in their studies. I have seen my students gain confidence and take increasing pride in their work.

I have witnessed first hand the progress my students make when given the right tools for success. When learners are given the correct scaffolding to access their curriculum and are taught in creative and engaging ways they grow in confidence and ability.

Tutoring Experience

I have a strong knowledge of primary and secondary school curriculums and pre-test exams. I have experience working in primary schools where I led maths, reading, writing, english and phonics interventions. I have worked as a tutor for primary and secondary school pupils, providing them with the study skills needed to consolidate their knowledge and push themselves analytically and critically.

I can deliver tuition for GCSE and A-Level students. I understand the expectations and marking criteria for the different examination boards and can help students focus their ideas to ensure that they incorporate some of that creative flare examiners like to see.

I have worked as a private tutor for children with special educational needs and feel confident in adapting curriculums to suit learners needs.

Tutoring Approach

My goal is for my students to feel confident in tackling challenging questions outside of our sessions and so I make sure to provide them with techniques they can employ independently. I want my students to feel proud of their work and develop their analytical and critical skills.

I create a flexible style of tutoring tailored to the student’s interests and needs. I make sure to check in with my students and their parents regularly and can adapt sessions to suite emerging needs.

For maths I use different materials to help students visualise and gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts so they can access more in depth work. If students are struggling with english, I encourage creative expression and exploration by working to incorporate their interests into the curriculum.

My number one priority is creating a safe learning environment where my students feel that making mistakes are part of the learning process and opportunities for growth. I always bring a sense of humour to my sessions, ensuring my students remain engaged and motivated.
