I have worked as a Software Engineer in London for the past 6 years. I studied Computer Science at the University of Birmingham and have a Distinction (1:1) in CS from there. My bachelor's degree is in Biochemistry and as such I have a great grasp of Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.
I also studied Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry for A-levels at King Edward VI.
During my free time, I like to read, write, do yoga and garden!
I worked as a university student tutor for 3 years in the USA.
I currently privately tutor in Mathematics and Biology and Chemistry.
I use the first lesson to evaluate the student and see if I can help them. This lesson is half price so that that it allows the student to see if I'm a good fit for their learning style.
I believe in problem based learning. Solving problem sets is the ideal way to learn - it continually tests the how well the student has understood a concept.
I also believe that building students' confidence and helping them solve gradual, stepped problems helps them feel that even subjects often regarded as difficult can also be fun and manageable.
