Mohammad Swaley

I am a Mathematics teacher with a BSc in Maths and Applied Maths from the University of South Africa (2005). I also have an Advanced Certificate in Education from the Mauritius Institute of Education (2003) and a B.Eng (Hons) in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Mauritius (2000).

I have been teaching since 1990 after a two-year full-time teacher training course in Mauritius. In June 2006, I started teaching in the UK. I have been teaching Maths and Further Maths together with Statistics, Mechanics and Decision Maths in a private sixth-form college for six and a half years and have also been teaching in secondary schools teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have lots of students who got great results and went on to study at very good universities.

Tutoring Experience

Tutoring Approach

I always start my lessons with a demonstration on how to answer a question which I ask the students to copy in their books. After that, they are given the opportunity to try one question together with me before they try one on their own.

My strength is that I have a very good subject knowledge in A-Level Maths and I am very comfortable teaching Pure Maths, Statistics, Mechanics, Decision Maths and Further Pure Maths including Further Statistics and Further Mechanics to A-level students. I derive great self-satisfaction making the Maths accessible and understandable to the students. I get lots of praise from my A-Level students about my teaching and the way I explain the different concepts to them, all this contributes to my job satisfaction.
