Fully qualified teacher/examiner. English teacher and specialism in the Humanities and Social Sciences such as Sociology and Criminology and Art Curious and analytical, I am an avid reader on social and political issues. I am a Londoner, but now based in Buckinghamshire and have been fortunate enough to have lived in Australia and New Zealand - visits that I thoroughly recommend! Although a teacher now, my previous employment was in marketing and the music industry where my Social Science degree was fully utilised.
I have 18 years experience of secondary school and sixth form college teaching and curriculum leadership. I am a fully qualified teacher (possessing QTS status). I have experience of marking exams for exam boards and this is an asset to my job role, by providing advantageous insight to exam question responses and expectations. I have taught in single sex and mixed schools and have realised the general preferred learning styles of male and female students. I have helped set up a new sixth form college introducing new subjects that include History of Art too. I have been a department leader with responsibility for English and Social Sciences departments. I regularly conduct assessment and essay writing workshops and seminars for colleagues in the teaching profession around the country. Within all my subjects, I keep abreast of the ever-changing curriculum and enjoy professional developmental opportunities.
