Like most parents who care about supporting their children to achieve their dreams, finding a tutor that can fill the learning need gaps between college and home is a daunting one, especially unless you have personal experience of an individual or strong recommendation from a trusted source. I was in this position early this year with my daughter who needed that extra support to understand and be confident with complex topics for her biology A level exams. With little time or knowledge of where to go I used First Tutors and found Susan. The existing reviews gave me some confidence so went ahead. Honestly I have never made a better decision, Susan was super professional, friendly, supportive, caring and most importantly has fantastic up to date knowledge and ability to coach Biology A Level. My daughter instantly was relaxed with her approach and able to confidently question and learn, not once did I hear the “i don’t want to go tonight” quite the opposite, couldn’t wait to see Susan. My daughter at the point of starting with Susan was stressed, not obtaining the grades she required in mocks and really worried about getting what she needed to pursue a degree in biology. Boom August 15th, she nailed her biology exam and accepted into her first choice degree course. If you’re in a similar position please don’t hesitate to reach out to Susan. My daughter was tutored by Susan for the two months running up to her A level Biology exams. Susan was a huge help in building her confidence. She was able to ascertain her strengths and weaknesses very quickly and had thorough knowledge of her exam board. She was excellent at explaining things and had great tips on exam technique. She has a very reassuring and calming manner. Would highly recommend her.

Sue was a brilliant A level biology tutor for my daughter. She explained difficult topics really clearly and went through past papers and marking systems so that my daughter had a detailed understanding. Excellent Tutor ! Friendly so knowledgeable and helped my daughter in a couple of sessions to get the right exam technique, she is gaining confidence for the real exams approaching fast and even nailed recently an Astar in a topic test, which never happened before! Thanks for your help Sue!

Sue has not only helped my son with his understanding of biology for his A level course but it has now become his favourite A level subject. She brings the subject to life, is very clear about what students need to do to meet the criteria for the subject level and most importantly draws my son in so that he feels listened to and understood in terms of where he is with his studies, He will be sticking with Sue through to A level if she will have him!

My daughter was awarded 'A' level biology grade C in the summer which we felt did not reflect the result she could have achieved in an exam She took the decision to take the actual exam in September this year but had not studied for months. Sue helped tutor my daughter for the 6 weeks or so leading up to the exam in September and my daughter has just been awarded grade A. Cant thank Sue enough for helping to fulfil my daughters potential in what was an even more stressful exam situation than normal.

Sue is a highly skilled Biology tutor who helped my son work towards his Biology Eduqas A Level resit in summer 2020. With Susan's help Jamie was able to improve his grade from a D to a B which enabled him to achieve his first choice of university.
My son found Sue to be very friendly and approachable yet at the same time pushing him to achieve his full potential.

Susan is an excellent Biology tutor who tutored my daughter in A level Bio for the past year. My daughter had missed quite a bit of bio at college due to knee surgery and physio and Susan helped her to achieve the grades she needed for University which were several grades above her original predicted grades from college. Sue has made a huge improvement in my A Level biology knowledge and exam technique and has slowly and patiently gone through everything i haven't understood. She has definitely made a large impact on both my exam results and my participation in classes and is a lovely woman to work with

Sue stepped in to the rescue just 3 weeks before my son’s final A level Biology exam. He was a bit behind schudule and needed some extra support. Sue helped him understand some content that he had never really got before. It really boosted his confidence and made him feel ready to face the final exams.
