In one to one sessions with me students will practice what they will be tested on in the summer. I.e.
1) Multiple choice questions
2) Short answer questions
3) Essay questions
As the course progresses I expect my students to be able to articulate why their multiple choice or short answers are correct and also be able to write essay plans to 'worst case scenario' essay questions that could arise in the exam.
I teach exclusively AS & A2 (OCR) economics at an outstanding sixth form college in the North West to over 100 students each academic year.
I have also taught various business and economics courses (OCR, AQA and BTEC) in an inner-city sixth form college in Manchester.
I like to use Skype and my lessons are usually structured as follows:
1) Student questions... You may well know what you do and don't understand. We'll prioritise your questions from lessons you've had at school / college during the week.
2) We will go through questions/an essay on a topic of your choice (I have banks of different questions that I'll send you over Skype). I will ask you to explain your thinking to me and I'll help tidy your understanding. I'll then set you similar questions to give you the opportunity to prove to yourself that you know a topic well and our session has been of use.
