I am an energetic, enthusiastic, committed, qualified teacher who has over 12 years of teaching experience. I have a passion for learning and giving the children and adults that I work with confidence and enjoyment in all that they do. I enjoy striving for the best in my own personal life as well as my professional enjoying training for high intensity fitness competitions as well as competing my horse all while bringing up my 3 small children.

I am available weekdays both during the day as well as in the evenings.

Tutoring Experience

I have in depth experience of teaching the Scottish curriculum from early level to second level as well as National Curriculum math and English to Key Stage 1 and 2.

My teaching experience also includes SATs preparation for years 2 and 6. I have also got ample experience of private tuition, teaching children on a one to one basis and small groups. I teach children from a range of abilities including the high achieving students who need challenging and pushing to children with special educational needs.

I have experience teaching Early Years and I am fully trained to teach the introduction of phonics and using concrete-pictorial-abstract for developing pupils mental number knowledge and understanding.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is extremely flexible as I tend to adapt my teaching method based on the tutee's particular needs.

In the years that I have been tutoring I am grateful that I have never had an unsatisfied student as I pride myself on emphasis being placed on carefully listening to the specific needs of the student and focusing on developing individual bespoke lessons rather than one-size-fits-all approach.

It's important to me to understand the needs of each student in order for me to adapt an approach that will maximise his/her potential.

It is important to me that I develop a good relationship with each pupil so that they feel comfortable while working with me as well as to gauge what style of teaching is best suited to him/her . Learning is not a one style fits all.

Upon joining me for any lesson cancellation 24 hours notice is required otherwise full lesson fee is applicable as I am unable to offer that hour to another student.
