Physics and Chemistry Tuition in Hove

I find myself in constant awe and wonder with the dynamic nature of new applications of science, and our marvellous Earth Biosphere. I believe my enthusiasm for learning and understanding our Earth translates into engaging and dynamic lessons. In my time as an educator, I have ignited many young people’s passions for science, the body they inhabit and the world they interact with. I am a life-long learner and a reflective practitioner, and I greatly appreciate finding a vocation that allows me to continue to explore and learn alongside the inspiring change makers of today.

Tutoring Experience

Currently tutoring students in A level biology and Biology, Chemistry and Physics at GCSE level after returning home from my International teaching post in Bali. Before that, I was teaching in North London, Camden and Hertfordshire and have been working in schools for around 10 years.
I am an experienced and passionate educator, and in my most recent teaching post, I was delivering biology, chemistry and physics to both lower and upper school. I also have experience of teaching across all specifications in the UK curriculum, as well as the Cambridge International curriculum and the IB.

Tutoring Approach

In my online classes, I create a safe space where all learners are welcomed, where they learn through discussion and exploration, developing the essential skills of communication and collaboration. I encourage my learners to explore ideas, and reassure them that making mistakes and reflecting on them is valuable and a powerful learning tool. One of my core values as an educator is: ‘making learning meaningful’. I pride myself on my ability to teach scientific principles in relation to actual, real world applications. My lessons are engaging and challenging, with a big focus on perfecting exam technique and literacy/maths in science.
