Sophie

Hi I'm Sophie and I'm passionate about all things Maths and Science. I am beginning my Natural Sciences degree at University of Bath in September. I've got experience tutoring and find it incredibly rewarding.

Tutoring Experience

I've tutored Maths and Physics to GCSE level students for 2 years. Additionally I've worked as a ski instructor for a season in Japan teaching children and adults of varying ages and abilities, (child protection module included). Previously I've volunteered at Brownies and swim coaching.

Tutoring Approach

I love using questions to help the student understand what's going to be asked of them in an exam situation. To teach I use lots of questions to keep the student engaged and then try to get them to talk me through problems and try relaying the information back to me- as if they were teaching me. This is incredibly helpful in determining what you understand well and where the gaps in your knowledge may be.
