Hi! I'm Sophie, a BA Geography Student at The London School of Economics. I studied both English Literature and Geography at GCSE and A Level's. I'm positive, motivated and an enthusiastic tutor! I believe everyone can do amazing in order to gain success and achieve their goals.

I'm willing to engage, teach and motivate students in order for them to do amazingly in their exam. Also, gain the essential knowledge which is needed to succeed to progress further. I am keen to help others better understand their subjects and instil the positive and optimistic mindset in students which I believe is crucial for success.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced Geography tutor with over 400 hours of one-to-one and small group tutoring experience. I specialise in both A-Level and GCSE Geography and have a proven track record of helping students achieve top grades — including A*s at A-Level and Grade 8s and 9s at GCSE.

I have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with dyslexia, and I tailor my teaching style to meet each learner’s individual needs. My approach is structured, supportive, and exam-focused, helping students build confidence as well as subject knowledge.

Tutoring Approach

How I will teach you:

Firstly, I will ask you about the areas which you struggle in and then we will cover content and fill in the gaps of knowledge.

Secondly, I will be testing you on information and concepts that we have covered. Using active recall and questions to help consolidate the information that we covered in class.

Thirdly, I will work through past paper exam questions with you. Teaching you the structure to the bigger mark questions and how to approach the questions. Teaching you the essentials and exam techniques which will enable you to access the top level band marks. With repetition and going through numerous and various exam questions together. This will enable you to ACE your exams!
