Hi, I'm a recent graduate from an integrated Master's in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Sheffield. I have heaps of enthusiasm about my subject and a good deal of personal experience with the UK exam system to give you or your child good tips and tricks to tackle exams and exam pressure.
I have been working as a supply teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools since October and have helped children from a wide range of ages with schoolwork in 1:1 and classroom settings. I also have experience running science outreach activities through my previous job as a science project intern at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and have given private violin lessons.
I enjoy teaching and coaching others and was the founder and co-ordinator of a music ensemble at the University of Sheffield. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of Biology and Chemistry and have helped friends and family members with their revision with great success in the past.
Exams, be they GCSEs or A levels, I believe are like a very serious and not-fun game, where understanding the system and developing an effective revision strategy is extremely important. For this reason I make sure to become well acquainted with the specific requirements of the exam board an exam is set by.
I coach students to use their time wisely, and the development of a well - crafted plan can take the stress out of feeling that you won't cover everything while setting strict limits on how much time you spend on one topic. Ironically, this knowing when to move on with a topic is an extremely key part of effective exam revision where I believe that the right coaching can go a long way.
I can offer online or in person sessions, please get in touch if you'd like any more information and I'd be happy to have a chat with you about any questions you may have on email or phone.
