I am a highly experienced teacher and I have worked in a variety of Primary School settings over the last 16 years. Having worked with children from the ages of 4 - 11 throughout my career so far I am well placed to tutor across all of the primary curriculum key stages. On a personal level I am a father of 3 young boys and I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, visiting the New Forest, reading, films, swimming, travelling and performing either on guitar or piano, along with singing.
I qualified as a primary school teaching in August 2008 and I have worked in a variety of primary settings since then. My roles have included whole class teaching, Higher Level Teaching Assistant, 1:1 teaching assistant and Learning Mentor. This variety of roles has given me a wonderful opportunity to work with and educate children from a number of different backgrounds and also to spend a lot of time working with SEN pupils, something that I have found extremely rewarding.
I have a creative and flexible approach to my teaching and I always ensure that every student is treated as an individual, making sure that the best possible methods are used to provide outstanding education and support within all primary subjects, along with providing tuition for the 11+ exams. I pride myself on building excellent relationships with my students which, in turn, means that learning, concentration and progression are quickly forthcoming. I feel it is important to utilise a range of resources whether these are written, visual, interactive or IT based.
