I am a primary school teacher currently teaching year 6. I have always praised for teaching inspiring lessons and finding ways to motivate all children, even those children who do not always enjoy school. I have a very friendly and bubbly nature which helps me to create really positive relationships with my pupils. I enjoy walking my dogs, reading and swimming.
I studied for 3 years at Sheffield Hallam University and gained a BA (Honours) in Primary Teaching with Qualified Teacher Status. I am in my fifth year of teaching and I have taught in a range of schools and year groups (ranging from nursery to year 6), in both suburban and inner city areas. I now work in a large city primary school that has a larger than average number of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an additional language (EAL). I love my job and really enjoy the opportunity to make a difference to children's lives.
Above all, I believe that learning should be exciting, inspiring and fun! I think that children should enjoy what they learn so that they want to continue doing it. I give learning a meaningful purpose so that children can apply their skills to real life situations. I adapt quickly to each child's individual learning style and think outside the box to help them understand new concepts. I want children to enjoy learning so that they can use new skills in the future.
